Objection Handling
How to use this skill
These are frameworks, not scripts. Adapt to the conversation. Acknowledge → Understand → Respond → Confirm.
"We already have ZoomInfo / Outreach / Salesloft"
Acknowledge: "Makes sense — those are the tools most teams start with."
Understand: "How's it working for you? Are reps actually using it end-to-end, or jumping between tools?"
Respond: [FILL: Apollo differentiator — e.g., "Most ZoomInfo customers we talk to still need a separate engagement tool. Apollo gives you both in one, with data that refreshes in real time vs. quarterly."]
Confirm: "If I could show you that the data quality is comparable and you could cut one tool, would that be worth 30 minutes?"
"Your data quality isn't as good as ZoomInfo"
Acknowledge: "Fair — data quality is the most important thing. You should only buy if the data is actually good."
Respond: [FILL: validation approach — e.g., "Let's do a live proof of concept. Give me 10 of your target accounts and we'll pull contacts and verify email deliverability together."]
Data facts: [FILL: Apollo's data refresh cadence, accuracy stats, verification methodology]
"It's too expensive / we don't have budget"
Acknowledge: "Budget is always real. Let's make sure we're not wasting each other's time."
Understand: "Is it the absolute price, or is it that you're not sure the ROI is there yet?"
Respond: [FILL: ROI framework — e.g., "If your AEs each book 2 more meetings per week at your average deal size, what does that math look like?"]
Options: [FILL: can you right-size to a smaller tier? annual vs. monthly pricing?]
"Not the right time / we're busy"
Acknowledge: "Timing is everything."
Respond: "What would need to change for this to be the right time? Is there a trigger — a new headcount, a new quarter, a goal you're trying to hit?"
If genuinely not now: Set a specific follow-up date. Don't let it go to "check back in Q3" without a reason.
"We need security / compliance review first"
Acknowledge: "Completely understand — that's the right process."
Respond: "We're SOC 2 Type II certified and GDPR compliant. I can send our security package today. What's the typical timeline for your security review?"
Accelerate: Offer to get your security team on a call with theirs directly.
"We need to talk to legal"
Respond: "Of course. Is there anything specific they'll focus on — DPA, data processing terms, liability? I can send our standard DPA and MSA to get the process started."
