Parking Layout Skill

Parking layouts maximize vehicle density while maintaining safe drive aisle widths, accessible slots near entrances, and separation between pedestrian and vehicular zones. Clearance is 500mm. Wall thickness is 200mm.

REFERENCES TO LOAD

  • Always load: references/room_standards.md — minimum sizes for all parking zones
  • Load for worked example: references/example_layout.json — complete parking floor

DOMAIN-SPECIFIC RULES

RULE P1 — Separate entry and exit. Entry and exit MUST be at separate gates. Entry on left, exit on right (Indian driving convention).

RULE P2 — Security at entry. Security booth MUST be at the entry gate for ticketing and access control. It has a barrier arm — no full door.

RULE P3 — Drive aisle width. Drive aisles MUST be minimum 6000mm wide for two-way traffic.

RULE P4 — Perpendicular slots. Car slots should be perpendicular to drive aisles (90°) for maximum density.

RULE P5 — Accessible slots near entrance. Accessible/handicapped slots MUST be near the entrance. Min width 3600mm.

RULE P6 — Two-wheeler separation. Two-wheeler zone MUST be separate from car zone, typically at the perimeter.

RULE P7 — Ramp placement. For multi-level parking, ramp at corner or one end. Open passage — no doors.

RULE P8 — No pedestrian mixing. Do NOT mix pedestrian walkways with drive aisles.

RULE P9 — No doors on slots. Car slots have no walls or doors between adjacent slots. Entry/exit lanes are open. Ramp is open.

UNKNOWN ROOM HANDLING

For unlisted zones (e.g., "EV charging bay", "car wash"):

  • EV charging bay: 3000×6000mm (wider than standard)
  • Car wash: 5000×8000mm
  • Set estimated: true, add to flagged_estimated_rooms

LAYOUT PRINCIPLES

  1. Separate entry and exit gates
  2. Security booth at entry
  3. Drive aisles minimum 6000mm for two-way traffic
  4. Car slots perpendicular to aisles for max density
  5. Accessible slots near entrance
  6. Two-wheeler zone separate, at perimeter
  7. Ramp at corner for multi-level
  8. No pedestrian-vehicle mixing
