Accent Rules - NEVER Omit

Contractions - Mandatory
These are not optional in French:

Tone & Register
- Informal "tu" for player/user-facing messages (not "vous") -- these apps are for friends
- Keep messages concise like the English version -- don't over-translate
- Match the energy of the English -- if it's casual, keep it casual in French

English → French

map → map (or carte depending on context)

practice → s'entraîner (verb) / entraînement (noun)

Before Saving
Always verify:
- All accents present (é, è, ê, î, à, ç, ô)
- Mandatory contractions applied (du, des, au, aux, l', s', j')
- Past participles end in -é not -e
- Informal "tu" form used (not "vous")
- No untranslated English words that should be French
- No over-translation of terms that should stay English (gaming jargon, technical terms)
