Use this skill whenever the operator is in a day-, week-, or quarter-lifecycle rhythm moment that benefits from an explicit review or check above the immediate work. Triggers include: "shape the day", "day-shape", "what's today's plan", morning of a working day, drift-check cadence every 2-3h (day-shape); a real deadline being mentioned — "due Friday", "by EOD", "before the meeting", "I told my ${user_config.manager_title} I'd send by tomorrow", "1on1 in 2 hours", any explicit date / time commitment (deadline-lock); "I'll dedicate a full Saturday", "when I have a free weekend", "haven't worked on X in 3 weeks but I'll catch up" (daily-practice — frequency beats intensity); "show me the pattern", "where did time go", "pattern report", "what did this week look like", "effort breakdown", weekly cadence (first session of Sunday post-zoom-out) (pattern-report); post-pattern-report cadence with accumulated long-session data (first-hour-vs-last-hour — quality curve so hardest work routes to front); "zoom out", "step

Apply even when the operator hasn't asked for a ritual — naming the cadence moment is the value. Consult the skill's rules/ folder to identify the specific rhythm moment (daily-practice, day-shape, deadline-lock, first-hour-vs-last-hour, pattern-report, recalibrate, zoom-out) and apply that rule's matching review. Soft teaching response. Do NOT use during solo-run mode (contract handles its own lifecycle), when the relevant review already happened this cadence period, when the moment is per-session lifecycle rather than day / week / quarter rhythm (that's session-flow), when the moment is substrate-memory / machine / skill-system hygiene (that's operator-memory), or when the operator is mid-critical-task and the review would actively interrupt time-sensitive work. license: MIT — see plugin LICENSE metadata: priority: medium promptSignals: phrases: - "shape the day" - "day-shape" - "what's today's plan" - "due Friday" - "by EOD" - "before the meeting" - "1on1 in 2 hours" - "I'll dedicate a full Saturday" - "when I have a free weekend" - "show me the pattern" - "pattern report" - "what did this week look like" - "effort breakdown" - "zoom out" - "step back" - "what's the big picture" - "is this still the right work" - "recalibrate" - "quarterly review" - "let's do a real check-in"

Cadence review

Seven rules covering the day / week / quarter rhythm above the immediate work: shaping the day, locking a real deadline, frequency-over-intensity practice, the weekly pattern report and its first-hour-vs-last-hour quality-curve follow-on, the weekly zoom-out meta-question, and the quarterly recalibration.

This is one of three skills split out of the former session-and-day-rituals umbrella. Per-session lifecycle lives in session-flow; substrate-memory + machine + skill-system hygiene lives in operator-memory.

Rules

Pattern Trigger Rule
Craft progress reasoned by intensity instead of frequency "I'll dedicate a full Saturday" / "haven't worked on X in 3 weeks but I'll catch up" daily-practice
Day-level shape: domain / location / resources / goals / collaborators / constraints morning of working day; "shape the day"; drift-check every 2-3h day-shape
Real deadline mentioned; lock the session "due Friday" / "by EOD" / "before the meeting" / "1on1 in 2 hours" deadline-lock
Surface the quality curve — hardest work routes to front post-pattern-report cadence with accumulated long-session data first-hour-vs-last-hour
Weekly effort distribution surface "show me the pattern" / "where did time go" / "effort breakdown" / Sunday cadence pattern-report
Quarterly big-picture stated-vs-revealed review across four pillars "recalibrate" / "quarterly review" / Jan / Apr / Jul / Oct first session recalibrate
Weekly meta-question above the work "zoom out" / "step back" / "what's the big picture" / Sunday cadence zoom-out

Dispatch

Match the cadence moment to the rule. Apply. Yield.

Suppression rules

  • Mode is solo-run (some rules suppressed during run; contract handles)
  • Already addressed this review in the current cadence period

What this skill never does

  • Force a specific day / week / quarter shape
  • Demand a review when the operator's overriding deliberately
