Technical Exploded-View Standards

Design Principles

  • Clarity: Exploded views should clearly show internal component relationships.
  • Layers: Always represent at least 5 layers in complex devices (e.g., Casing, Thermal Unit, PCB, Battery, Interface).
  • Alignment: Use consistent vertical or exploded-perspective alignment.
  • Annotation: Use clean leader lines (Muted Mid Gray) to point to key features.

Layer Structure Example

  1. Outer Casing (Anthropic Corporate Dark)
  2. Thermal Management (Secondary Brand Accent)
  3. PCB Substrate (Tertiary Brand Accent)
  4. Battery Module
  5. Interaction/Connector (Primary Brand Accent)

Best Practices

  • Use simple geometric shapes to represent components.
  • Avoid over-detailing; focus on modularity and functional separation.
  • Maintain consistent spacing between exploded parts to imply modularity.
