Lead Research
Research prospects and qualify them against the ideal customer profile before outreach.
Research checklist
- Company - What do they do? How big? Recent news?
- Person - Role, tenure, background. Have they posted anything relevant?
- Trigger - Why now? New hire, funding, product launch, job posting?
- ICP match - Do they fit? Check against context/icp.md
- Hook - What specific thing will you reference in the email?
Qualification criteria
Score each lead:
- Strong fit - Matches ICP, clear trigger, right persona
- Maybe - Partial ICP match, needs more research
- Pass - Doesn't match, move on immediately
Don't spend more than 5 minutes researching a lead. If you can't find a hook in 5 minutes, they're a Pass.
